According to reports, the government is not now bringing in the Workers (Predictable Terms and Conditions) Act 2023.
The act gives workers and agency workers the right to request more predictable terms and conditions of work. It received Royal Assent in September 2023, however more regulations were required to bring it into force. Changes to workers’ rights may now be incorporated into Labour’s upcoming Employment Rights Bill.

Did you know that you can support your staff’s wellbeing by noticing patterns and trends in their time and attendance behaviour?
With Mental Health Awareness Week on 13th to 19th May 2024, Kelio is aware of the benefits of staff monitoring. Our time and attendance solutions can assist in discovering frequent or unusual absence patterns that may emerge, providing an important opportunity to connect with your staff and a chance to support them.
Staff are absent for many reasons, including sickness, family issues, medical appointments, occupational illness and mental health reasons. Using Kelio’s Time and Attendance management system, different types of absence can be created and managed, including the number of days absent, the duration of absence, return to work conditions and supporting documentation; this may include doctor’s sick notes.
Contact us to see how Kelio can support your workforce with monitoring their absence and supporting mental health awareness.

We are pleased to inform you that Bodet Ltd has recently changed its name to Bodet Time Ltd, and created a new sister company called Kelio Ltd. Kelio Ltd will continue to provide, install and support Workforce Management Solutions, including Time and Attendance, HRIS and Access Control. While the products and services remain the same, the creation of two companies ensures a clearer structure for customers and is a logical step given the recent development in providing a HRIS solution.
From April 2024, the government have announced a change to holiday pay for employees that work irregular hours, including zero-hour contracts and part time workers. The new law states that annual leave will be able to be calculated at a rate of 12.07% of the hours worked.
Currently, rolled-up holiday pay, whereby employees add an amount to the staff’s hourly pay rate to represent holiday entitlement, is banned as it is seen to discourage employees from taking leave. However, in the new law for 2024, rolled-up holiday pay will be allowed for those who work part-time, irregular hours and for some agency workers, with a maximum of 28 days holiday entitlement. Ensuring employers comply with these laws means that workers are treated fairly and with the right pay.
